Job Description

Omniseq is currently seeking an experienced medical office administrative assistant to join our team focused on providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate would have small medical office experience, with a knowledge of medical terminology. This position also provides on the job learning experience to enhance the patient experience.

Job Responsibilities

Insurance Verification and Authorization

  • Verify benefits through insurance online portals and phone systems
  • Authorization requests and follow-up

Medical Billing

  • Claim submission to third party payers
  • Claim follow-up
  • Payment posting and reconciliation
  • Denial posting
  • Review, organize and distribute correspondence
  • Patient statements
  • Review credit balances on a timely basis to ensure overpayments are addressed
  • Learn to read and interpret medical policy

Patient/Provider Interaction

  • Address inquiries relating to insurance and patient balance
  • Communicate with patient’s regarding insurance benefits
  • Follow and apply financial assistance policy
  • Provide weekly and monthly information to clients
  • Demonstrate the primary goal of customer satisfaction through positive and timely interaction with patients and providers in a respectful, courteous, confidential and caring manner.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with insurance verification and prior authorization submission
  • Additional medical billing experience in claim submission, payment and denial posting and first level appeals preferred
  • Medical Billing Certification is considered a plus
  • Learning of how to apply use of modifiers, CPT and ICD-10 codes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards
  • Learn regulatory procedures that affect third party billing for Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial insurance
